(Monday 8th October 2007) For Students and the Public
The Foundation Music Department is proud to announce that there is an opportunity for you to meet and work with three of the most exciting jazz-trio players in the country.
The workshops will take place during the day, and the evening gig will be from 7pm to 9pm, in the Elizabeth Theatre at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. We are being supported by JazzYorkshire, Wakefield Jazz Club and the Wakefield Grammar Schools Foundation for this event.

The Day
0930 - 1030 First workshop for all participants with Stephen Keogh.
(Tea and coffee which will be provided)
1050 - 1150 Second Workshop for all participants with Arnie Somogyi
1210 - 1310 1st trio masterclass - covering soloing, group playing, improvisation
etc.
(Lunch - which participants will need to bring)
1410 - 1500 Pulse workshop - plus preparation for whole group performance
1520 - 1600 2nd trio masterclass - covering same as before but with new participants
1615 - 1715 final rehearsal for whole group piece to be performed as part
of the evening concert
1900 - Gig, two sets, predominantly given by the Jason Rebello Trio, with
some workshop students playing in their own ensembles or with members of the
trio during the gig.
This will be a Wakefield Jazz Club event, with an experienced
and discerning audience present.
The Trio are booked to make a return visit, with follow-up workshops and gig
during the Foundation Arts Week, on 23rd June, 2008. This will give students
the opportunity to reflect upon the material and learning during the October
workshops and present the Trio with evidence of their rehearsal and development.
